We filled out the I800 today! It's the petition to the US government to consider Noah (formally Zheng Jian Ang) as an immediate relative of ours. This was the first time we wrote his full name-Noah Matthew Hopkins. I will mail the I800 to our agency tomorrow so that it is ready and waiting when the LSC (letter seeking confirmation) arrives...whenever that is.
We think its important for him to have a name chosen by us and not the orphanage. Noah is a name Luke and I both liked and Matthew is Luke's middle name; so both our sons will each have a part of their father's name (Beckett's middle name is Lucas).
We plan to actually call him whatever name/nickname he is currently called for as long as he wants especially while he is learning English and adjusting to all the changes.
Until then I am reading The Connected Child by Karyn Purvis and practicing Mandarin. Luke will paint Noah's room in the next few weeks and we plan to take some additional online courses on preparing our (biological) children for the adoption of their brother, Noah Matthew Hopkins.
If our oldest daughter had been a boy, that was going to be her name! Noah Matthew. But alas, she was a girl. We still used the Matthew though when our second child was born.
